Summary
Footage of Margaret Beattie interviewing her daughter Tegan and Tegan's partner Troy about the impact of domestic violence on Tegan's life and personal relationships. Tegan and Troy discuss their strategies for maintaining a healthy relationship and give advice regarding the impact of violence on young Aboriginal people and the importance of seeking help from family and friends. Footage also contains establishing shots of Tegan, Troy, and their families. Followed by an interview with Greg Telford, an Aboriginal and Islander man who is willing to share his personal experience of both suffering domestic violence as a child and perpetrating it as an adult, before overcoming it through counselling. Telford discusses the Masters of Indigenous Studies he is currently undertaking and the importance of talking about family violence. He also speaks about both the impact of violence on him as a child and his own abuse of his family as an adult, as well as the methods he used to deal with his past and make long-lasting changes to his behaviour.
