p.323-324; Desire of the society to establish a mission to the Aborigines; such a mission had been commenced several years ago but due in particular to a lack of funds had to be abandoned; instructions on leaving England had been to obtain all the information possible re the establishment of an Aboriginal mission; Port Phillip presents a favourable opening for such a mission - considerable number of natives were wandering within certain limits adjacent to the present European settlement in an extremely degraded condition & were willing to receive instruction; p.325-327; William Buckley had acted as interpreter; appeal to the government for assistance - for a grant or reservation of a suitable portion to the Wesleyan Missionary Society in trust for the use and benefit of the Aborigines and for pecuniary aid
