Summary
James R.B. Love was the superintendent at Kunmunya mission between 1927 - 1940 and these photographs were taken by him during that time. Subjects include: cave paintings on Nyimundum Rock, Mt Lyell, Glenelg River Region, and Prince Regent River area near Kunmunya which feature animal motifs and Wandjina; stone monuments; sites of significance. The purpose of the mission, its methods, and the people of the Worora tribe are described in the book, Stone-Age Bushmen of Today (London, 1936). J. Love translated parts of the bible into Worora and some Worora stories into English. He wrote a thesis about the Worora language, and also at least 30 scientific articles about the Worora language, religion and traditional customs
