Summary
Looks at the resistance of the Karrajarri and Yawuru people to having their land taken away by pastoralists. The police went out to Gulwayi with trackers. The trackers shot one of the police or one of the pastoralists as they were surveying the country. The police came back with lots of reinforcements and massacred people from Broome to the Port Smith area. Most of Jimmy Edgar's family was killed. One of his great grandmothers crawled into the bush and survived. This is the family that carry the story. There was a plague in Fremantle but it was pulled out. Jimmy Edgar and the Nyagah-nyagah family group are the key storytellers for this story.
