Comparative study of Indigenous teacher education programs introduced in New South Wales (NSW) and in Saskatchewan, Canada, as one way of improving educational outcomes for Indigenous people; discusses racism, cultural determinism, culture, difference and equality and education; methodological and theoretical perspectives; comparative perspectives on race and culture; examines NSW Aboriginal Rural Education Program (AREP) and Saskatchewan Northern Teacher Education Program (NORTEP); discusses 'managing diversity, 'teaching with and through difference' and 'un/becoming' an Indigenous teacher based on data collected in interviews as part of case studies; concludes study shows how Indigenous and Non Indigenous teachers have negotiated way forward in Australia and Canada but hopes book will assist in ongoing process
