"This booklet commemorates the 175th anniversary of the arrival of the first Dresden Missionary Society missionaries, from Germany, in South Australia in 1838 to work with Aboriginal people and their languages. Two years later in 1840 the Dresden missionary, Pastor H A Eduard Meyer, arrived with his wife Friederike Meyer to work at Encounter Bay with the Ramindjeri people. He proceeded to record the Ramindjeri-Ngarrindjeri language with the help of local Aboriginal people, such as Encounter Bay Bob (Tammuruwe), Nakandeanambre, Kalduke, Puninjeri and Tjirbuke."--Page 4
