Summary
Discusses the mechanisms of lexical expansion that are available in the Boandik (Buandik) language of Mount Gambier region of South Australia. This paper is a celebration of what is lexically possible in Boandik for contemporary times, and reflect on the contributions of Barry Blake work in this process with supportive examples. The author uses the analogy of the Cratibul, a local people?s story of a giant who has lain dormant in the volcanoes of Mount Gambier. This paper includes word lists and examples of old and new word-building mechanisms
